I'm thrilled to announce the launch of our all new Wachiay Friendship Centre website!
The Wachiay story is a story of giving, sharing and working with our community. We wish to share our vision, goals, successes and needs with our immediate aboriginal community, our neighbors, our friends, our fellow British Colombians and Canadians at large. We truly are a 'friendship center that is open to all people: Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal . We offer help where we can, assistance when we're able, guidance, support and of course friendship. We provide opportunities for youth, social programs for our elders, assistance to the homeless, legal advocacy, job seeking help and so, so much more. All with a focus on the positive, and for the benefit of the people living our community.
Our goal is to populate this website with meaningful information and useful resources that will assist community members to find programs and services that improve their wellbeing . Our Blog will endeavor to be timely, fresh and feature information that is meaningful. Our hope is to bring awareness to issues on matters as close to home as our own back yard to the far reaches of our lands - touching local, provincial and national events that affect us all.
Our new website is easy to navigate, looks great, is mobile friendly, inclusive, open and accessible to all. We encourage you to contribute and engage. As all journeys start with the first step, so too does every friendship start with the first smile. Today, on the launch of our new web site – I'm smiling. Welcome.
