This summer the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award - Canada will be hosting LEAD - a 9 day Leadership Camp. Youth 14-24 years of age who are registered in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are invited to apply. The event will focus on: Leadership, Experience, Adventure and Development. Youth will have the opportunity to engage in activities alongside Award participants from across Canada. It’s the chance to spend time in the great outdoors, take part in workshops, develop leadership skills, and meet other people. The Black Creek Community Centre is looking for a Summer Recreation Camp Leader who is collaborative and community driven with strong interpersonal communication skills and lots of initiative. The Summer Camp Leader will work with the Programming Coordinator to plan, develop, promote and run community based summer recreation camps. This will include, (but is not limited to): -planning themes and activities for summer recreation camps for children ages 6-14 -developing promotional materials and kiosks -distributing promotional materials -executing logistical tasks for camp preparation -evaluating and assessing program results -provide assistance and support to office administration/operatio

MAKE VIDEOS & GET PAID! Youth Media Project is a program for community action through media involving 9 participants between the ages of 16 – 30. In this 13-week program, youth receive training in video production, gain employability skills, and work with a network of community partners to create videos through work placements - highlighting community resources, and presenting ideas for community change. The project welcomes all youth, including immigrant youth, Aboriginal youth, street- involved youth and others who face barriers to employment. Want more info?
